The Portrait & Color Reduction Printmaking

This printmaking project explores the concept of reflecting on the changes that occur in one person over time. As a reduction printmaking project, this differs from the previous printmaking project in that three layers of color are applied on top of each other. From light to dark, adding colors one by one. The process of the printmaking project all starts with sketching out on a right-sized sheet of paper and marking out where all the colors should be. For example, the artwork I am creating requires 3 colors other than blank white - purple, blue, and black, so I would mark out in detail on the parts where I want both colors for to go, especial every color and to be presented. Applying the technique of crosslines to show the overlap of colors. After a simple reflection and tracing, there would be everything on your sketch would be traced out on the block that you need to carve. In order to actually print out colors in different layers, carve a part where you want to leave one following the order, then go through first, only the black one by one, from light to dark.
